EFPSE Map Editor A dedicated map editing tool for EFPSE.

2D grid editor alongside a full 3D walkthrough powered by Three.js.

(Please note that the 3D model support is still a work in progress and needs some tweaking.)

What it does:

  • 2D grid editing plus a real-time Three.js 3D view of the same map
  • Place walls, floors, decorations, enemies, and keys using your project's own Models.dat, Decorations.dat, and Enemies.dat — not placeholder art
  • Advanced modifiers and textures: A custom tile builder lets you combine rectangles, circles, slopes, and corner-slopes into one shape. Drag the corners to reshape it, dial in your textures, save it as a modifier, and reuse it anywhere
  • Copy/paste in 3D — select a chunk of your map directly in the 3D view, copy it, and drop it somewhere else with a live preview before you commit
  • Plays a model's idle animation if it has a matching .states file
  • Reads your project's own FXAA shader for the 3D preview instead of faking one(WIP)
  • Two "potato mode" tiers for lower-end machines
  • Imports and exports .eem, .script, and the supporting .dat files, so it works with your existing project folder — nothing gets converted into some other format

I built this against the real engine source (

CG8516/EZGB_Editor - not mine) and actual exported maps, not just guesswork, so it should behave consistently with what the game itself does. If something looks wrong for your specific project, there's a toggle to try an alternate way of reading .md3 model files — not every model is packaged exactly the same way, and as mentioned, the 3D model handling is still actively being worked on.

Free. If you run into a bug, tell me which map or model it happened on and I'll take a look.
